Nonbinary people don’t owe you an explanation in order to be respected.

If a trans person chooses to do emotional labor to explain their identity to you, do not take that for granted. It is safer for us to *not* elaborate on who we are, because it is exhausting and we are all too often met with hate and threats in return.

If you are a cis person, educate yourself and then educate other cis people. Defend, respect, and listen to trans people.

If you’re nonbinary, please respect yourself first and foremost. If someone refuses to accept you, choose yourself over their bigotry. You are valid and worthy of love and happiness.
